Fab3000 Glide Bombs
The war in Ukraine is characterized by high technical dynamism. Russian glide bombs have become real game changers in the war, now raging for over two years, and could indeed decide the war in favor of Russia by virtue of them just leveling the entire civilian infrastructure and cities of the country. Just a few weeks ago, the world’s largest glide bomb ever deployed, the FAB-3000 with UMPK glide kit, was used in the Ukraine war. On July 15, the state-owned arms conglomerate Rostec announced a significant further development of the FAB-3000, likely into a very large short-range cruise missile. An assessment:
Difficult to Intercept Destructive Power

The FAB-3000 carries over 1500 kg (3300 pounds~) of payload. While it used to be a regular (although gigantic) bomb, glide kits have been developed to, when dropped from a high enough altitude, literally “glide” 50–60km (40 miles) towards their targets…
